Frequently Asked Questions

How will you know what I like if I don’t know you?
Creating albums for others is a very intimate event and I consider it a huge privilege. My hope is that you choose Pass On The Memories because you like the overall style. In addition, we will have as many hours of consultation available as necessary to make you comfortable entrusting me with your photos. On the alacarte menu, the choice is available to have me email you for approval of layouts if you desire. This may calm any nervousness as well as incorporate you in the creative process.

What kind of materials do you use?
Scrapbooks Complete chooses to use Creative Memories products because of the guarantee of quality. They have been thoroughly tested and can be trusted in preserving your memories for years to come. I may – from time to time – use another vendor’s paper or letters for a special effect. You will help make these decisions before the creative process begins.

If I supply you with materials, will it lower the cost?
Unfortunately, there is not a lower price offered for providing supplies. It is difficult to plan a layout when it is limited to specific supplies, paper, stickers, etc. Of course, any memorabilia can be included in the album.

How long does it take you to complete an album?
I generally attempt to get an album consisting of 20 pages completed within one month's time. From the time I receive your e-mail approving my preliminary plans for your first page, to the emailing of your last completed page for you to view. I will make every attempt to complete a project if you need it by a certain date. This requires you to check your e-mail frequently to approve layout plans, if you choose. A quick response to layout ideas is necessary to keep from encountering delays in the completion of your scrapbook.
Obviously, the time needed for smaller projects is significantly less. It generally takes me one and a half days to complete a page. If you have requested 10 pages, I would estimate 15 days for completion.

What about journaling? Do you journal for me? If so, how do you know what to write?
Journaling to me is what makes a photo album a scrapbook. I also feel your handwriting, no matter how horrid, is a tremendous asset to the scrapbook. That said, I too love computer fonts for journaling on layouts.
You will receive an e-mail of my plans for each page. With each page I give you the opportunity to e-mail me any journaling you wish to have included. At your request I can also provide an empty space in which you can hand write your own journaling once you receive the album.
There is no additional charge for journaling.

I am simply overwhelmed by the number of photos I have in a box! I don't even know where to begin. How can you help?
Simply e-mail me your wishes to get started on a custom-made scrapbook and that you are finding it difficult to know where to start. We can set a time in which I can ring you at your convenience and together we can come up with an album theme in which to get started.
If from there you have difficulty selecting and editing your photographs, you can meet or mail me all your photos in order for the album theme and I can make the selection for you, with your approval. In my e-mail of my preliminary plans for the page I will include the photos that will be included and those that I will exclude. You can always voice your opinion on what photos to include throughout the creative process.

I have started a scrapbook but have not had the time to finish it. Do you also complete started albums?
Certainly. To determine your cost, I would charge $5.00 per single sided page. Your deposit would be 50% of that figure. If you have a going theme you have created in your scrapbook (i.e., a color theme) I would gladly attempt to continue with what you were going for if at all possible.

Can you recreate ideas from magazines and the Internet for my scrapbook?
I have yet to find an idea that I would not be able to recreate. What I generally do when I "scraplift" is to take the idea and personalize it. I would gladly incorporate any ideas or layouts you have in mind for your album.

What if I wish to cancel my order for a custom-made album once it has been started?
An order may be cancelled at anytime, for any reason. The customer is liable for the cost of each page that has already been created at $10.00 per page. The deposit will be returned minus the cost of work already completed. If the amount due is more than the deposit, items will be withheld until payment for remaining balance is received.

Returns
Once you receive the album, the customer has seven days to contact Pass On The Memories concerning any changes required. I truly wish for the album to provide the utmost satisfaction. I agree to completely redo a total of two pages and in addition, make adjustments to up to four pages. The customer will incur all shipping costs, if any.
